Guided Pathways Legal Narrative Assistant

Join us in making justice more accessible through the power of GenAI

The Guided Pathways Legal Narrative Assistant is part of our research into how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) can help people tell their story in legal proceedings, like drafting an affidavit for family court. Creating narratives is one of the biggest challenges for many people who are not represented by a lawyer.

Join our research effort

You can contribute to our research by completing a Guided Pathway, using the AI prototype to create a narrative, and then, answering a brief survey about your narrative. (See How it works below for more detail.) Your input is very important to our work. It will help us evaluate and improve the use of GenAI as a tool to help people write better legal narratives—a step toward increasing access to justice.

Important: Don't enter personal information

Please don't enter any personal information (for example, names, addresses, birthdates) into the system. When you fill out a Guided Pathway, use fictional information. The system is not secure yet because it's a prototype. The technology will need to pass a privacy impact assessment and other tests before we consider sharing it with the public.

How it works

1. Click “Start pathway” below

You'll be directed to one of CLEO's Guided Pathways. The pathways ask you questions and use your answers to create a document, like a draft affidavit.

2. Complete the Guided Pathway

Complete the Guided Pathway using fictional details.

3. Work with our GenAI prototype

Our prototype will transform the details you entered into a draft narrative. Work with the AI Editor's tools to edit and finalize your draft.

4. Share your insights

Fill out a short survey to help us refine the prototype and increase our understanding of this emerging technology.
